What effect does temperature have on precision part processing?

For the precision mechanical parts processing industry, sufficient precision is often the most intuitive to reflect the processing capabilities of its factory. FlytigerCNC specializes in manufacturing non-standard metal parts. Our precision can reach 0.01mm. We know that temperature is a big influence on machining accuracy. Elements, below by our engineers to introduce you:

In the actual machining process, under the action of various heat sources (friction heat, cutting heat, ambient temperature, heat radiation, etc.), the temperature changes of machine tools, tools, workpieces, etc. will cause thermal deformation, which will affect the workpiece and the tool. The relative displacement causes machining errors, which in turn affects the machining accuracy of the part. For example, the linear expansion coefficient of steel is 0.000012/°C, and for steel parts with a length of 100mm, it will elongate by 1.2μm when the temperature rises by 1°C. In addition to directly affecting the expansion and contraction of the workpiece, temperature changes also have an impact on the accuracy of the machine tool.

In precision machining, higher requirements are placed on the machining accuracy and accuracy of the workpiece. According to relevant statistics, in precision machining, the machining error caused by thermal deformation accounts for 40%-70% of the total processing error. Therefore, in high-precision precision machining, in order to avoid the expansion and contraction of the workpiece due to temperature changes, the reference temperature of the environment is generally strictly regulated. The deviation range of temperature variation has been established, and constant temperature processing of 20 °C ± 0.1 °C and 20 ± 0.01 °C has appeared.

In general, for the constant temperature and humidity laboratory for precision machining, in order to avoid the expansion and contraction of the workpiece during processing and metering due to temperature changes, the indoor reference temperature is strictly specified, and the deviation range of the temperature change is established. The relative humidity requirements of the air are not as strict as the accuracy of textile testing. For example, a national ultra-precision processing laboratory requires a temperature of 20 ° C ± 0.2 ° C, and a relative humidity of 45% ± 5%.

In the future, with the development of society, the advancement of technology, and the precision control technology of precision parts processing, it will become more and more developed!
